    Raise calcium hardness

Lab history

Two laboratories measure this pool: WaterGuru analyses a sample posted to them, Leslie's runs a photometer on one carried into the store. Each lab is drawn as its own line — never joined into one — because a single line through both would assert that a step between consecutive points is the pool moving, when it may just as easily be the two labs disagreeing. Neither column is averaged into the other — a mean would erase the only thing this table is for. A gap counts as real only when it is both proportionally large and big enough in absolute terms to change what you would do; copper at 0.1 against 0.2 is half the value and still the same conclusion. Over the 6 days between them, phosphates, alkalinity moved by more than that. Whether the pool changed or the labs differ is not decidable from this table — the chemical log is what settles it, since one dose of acid takes this pool's alkalinity down by about that much.

What the pool did

One row per day, midnight to midnight. The salt cell only makes chlorine while the pump runs, and the spa spillover aerates the whole time it does — so pump hours drive chlorine up and pH up together. The sheer descent adds aeration on top. Chemical additions appear as a marker above the lanes.
